Best known for playing Bill S. Preston, Esq. in the Bill & Ted movies (and for being one of the vampires in The Lost Boys), Alex Winter also has many directing credits to his name, including the 1993 cult classic oddball comedy Freaked. His latest feature directorial effort is Adulthood, which is described as a darkly comic modern noir – and Variety reports that Adulthood has secured a U.S. and Canada distribution deal with Republic Pictures. A release date has not yet been announced.

Winter provided the following statement: “I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Republic Pictures for the North American sales and release of our film. They have great instincts and are dedicated to quality indie movies.

Scripted by novelist Michael M.B. Galvin, Adulthood tells the story of sister and brother Megan and Noah, who are barely hanging on in present day America. When they discover a dead body, long buried in their parents’ basement, the siblings are pulled back to the hometown they ran away from and into a rabbit hole of crime and murder.

The film stars Josh Gad (Wolf Like Me), Kaya Scodelario (Crawl), Billie Lourd (American Horror Story), and Anthony Carrigan (Barry).

Winter also appears in an acting role, and produced Adulthood with Scott Kroopf, Russell Hollander, and Lisa Wolofsky, as well as Michael Cho and Tim Lee of Olive Hill Media, and Danny Roberts, H.S. Naji, and Jackie Langelier of Fresh Fish Films. Olive Hill Media and Fresh Fish Films provided the funding. Connie Tavel serves as an executive producer alongside Mimi Rode of Olive Hill Media and Thorsten Schumacher of Rocket Science. Rocket Science is currently arranging finance for international sales.

Michael M.B. Galvin previously worked on the screenplay for the 1999 comedy Freak Talks About Sex (which was based on one of his novels) and Matthew Lillard’s 2012 feature directorial debut, Fat Kid Rules the World. On the acting side of his career, Alex Winter was most recently seen in the horror comedy Destroy All Neighbors.

PLOT: A divorced couple attempt to stop their daughter from marrying a man she just met while on vacation in Bali. Will they break the happy twosome apart, or find their old romance rekindled?

REVIEW: Ticket To Paradise is a return to the travelogue, romantic comedies from the past. It’s a cinematic reunion of two very charismatic stars, George Clooney and Julia Roberts. It’s complete with beautiful scenery, an attractive cast, and a script that follows a familiar path. Aside from the crowd-pleasing partnership of Roberts and Clooney, the film also features some of today’s brightest, including Kaitlyn Dever, Billie Lourd, Sean Lynch, and Lucas Bravo (who was terrific in this year’s Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris). It all has the makings of being a delightful experience at the movies. And yet, with all this, Paradise is predictable, dull, and just not very funny.

David (Clooney) and Georgia (Roberts) are happily divorced. They’ve figured out how to raise their daughter Lily (Dever) without dealing with each other. Things change for the two when Lily makes a bold and rash decision while vacationing in Bali; she falls in love with a local named Gede (Maxime Bouttier). Instead of returning to the US and becoming a lawyer, Lily and Gede announce their marriage plans. To stop the couple from repeating their mistake, Georgia and David make a covert plan to end their daughter’s wedding. However, their time together may prove to be more problematic than they could have ever anticipated. The audience, of course, can see it a mile away.

The attraction of putting both George Clooney and Julia Roberts together can be magical. It’s worked in the past, and their chemistry isn’t lost in Ticket to Paradise at all. There is an instant charm as the two spend time squabbling and ultimately re-discover each other, trying to help (?) their daughter. And yet, the screenplay relies heavily on that chemistry. These two characters aren’t likable people. One of their plans to stop the wedding is downright disgusting. It’s difficult to sympathize with anybody conspiring against a little girl to steal something from her. Georgia and David are an awful couple who somehow raised a thoughtful and kind daughter. Props to that, I suppose.

As for the rest of the cast, Kaitlyn Dever is perhaps the most sympathetic character as the daughter dealing with nightmarish parents. Her performance is terrific here, and her romance with Bouttier’s Gede feels effortless. And yes, Billie Lourd is terrific, once again, as a scene-stealing side character with little to do with much. Aside from the fact she is Lily’s friend, she is underused here. Just be thankful she can liven things up. And finally, Lucas Bravo once again shines as Georgia’s current younger flame. While David keeps joking about how dull he is, I was rooting for Georgia to return to him immediately. It was a less predictable romance than what we get.

With a game cast, Ticket to Paradise ultimately feels dated. The jokes occasionally will leave you with a smirk, but it’s rarely funny. Yet, for fans of 90’s romcoms, you might find comfort in the generic story and dialogue. It’s not necessarily bad, just familiar and not that engaging. Even still, those looking for a return to the kind of movie that made Roberts’ America’s sweetheart and Clooney “the sexiest man alive” may find enough here to satiate your needs. It’s not exactly a terrible film. The elements are entirely on display, but their characters aren’t that interesting.

Ticket to Paradise is a by-the-numbers romantic comedy that will please those missing their Julia Roberts/George Clooney fix. For the rest of us, it may not be nearly as magical as it should be. The script is familiar and predictable, and the main characters aren’t particularly commendable. The supporting cast is all good; Dever, Lourd, and Bravo are especially notable. Yet ultimately, you know what you will get with this basic romantic comedy. It’s a shame, as it was nice to see the big-screen pairing of the film’s leads again. Perhaps they’ll try with a better film if this ticket lights up the box office.

Filming is underway on American Horror Story season 11, which is expected to premiere on FX sometime this fall – and while there haven’t been any official announcements regarding the cast of this new season, Deadline reports that the cast will include Billie Lourd, Zachary Quinto, Isaac Powell, and Patti LuPone, all of whom have appeared on at least one previous season of the show. Joining them are Sandra Bernhard, Joe Mantello, and Charlie Carver. Bernhard previously worked with American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy on Pose, Carver worked with him on Ratched, and Mantello worked with Murphy on Hollywood, The Normal Heart, and The Boys in the Band.

Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, American Horror Story is an anthology series where

each season is conceived as a self-contained miniseries, following a different set of characters and settings in the same fictional universe, and a storyline with its own “beginning, middle, and end.”

The story and setting for season 11 haven’t been revealed. FX and the show’s production company declined to comment on Deadline’s cast report, but Powell, Lourd, Carver, and Bernhard have already been spotted filming scenes for American Horror Story season 11 on the streets of Manhattan’s West Village. Deadline notes that “based on the costumes and exteriors, it appears to be set in the 1970s-80s”… basically the same place and time as another FX / Murphy project that’s in development, Studio 54: American Crime Story.

Are you a fan of American Horror Story, and are you looking forward to season 11? What do you think of the season’s cast list so far? Share your thoughts on this one by leaving a comment below.

While I intend to give American Horror Story a serious chance at some point, so far I have only watched the first one or two episodes of the first season and the first two episodes of the spin-off American Horror Stories. So I’m way behind on all of this American Horror stuff.

An American Horror Story: Double Feature trailer has arrived to tease the tenth season of the FX anthology series American Horror Story, and you can check it out in the embed above. This season is set to begin airing on August 25th and is going to be split into two stories – the first of which is called Red Tide and centers on characters played by Finn Wittrock and Lily Rabe. You can get a preview of what their characters are like by watching the new trailer.

The premiere episode of Double Feature is titled Cape Fear and has the following synopsis:

A struggling writer, his pregnant wife, and their daughter move to an isolated beach town for the winter. Once they’re settled in, the town’s true residents begin to make themselves known.

This season is called Double Feature because it will be telling two horrifying stories, one by the sea… the other by the sand.

Following Red Tide, the second story of the season is called Death Valley. The promotional images for the show imply that Red Tide will be dealing with killer mermaids / sirens… and if it weren’t for the fact that we’re expecting such creatures, I wouldn’t have made any connection between the creepy characters glimpsed in the trailer and killer mermaids.

In addition to Wittrock and Rabe, the cast of American Horror Story: Double Feature includes Sarah Paulson, Macaulay Culkin, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Angelica Ross, and Kaia Gerber. This is the second trailer to come out after the first one a few weeks ago.

American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy has said that Culkin will be playing an “insane part” that involves having “crazy, erotic sex with Kathy Bates”. Paulson teased that her character “has some issues” and sports a hair color that has never been on Paulson’s head before.

Be sure to check out the Double Feature trailer above, and the series will be available to watch through the “FX on Hulu” streaming service the day after they first air on the FX channel.

We’re just thirteen days away from the August 25th premiere of American Horror Story: Double Feature, the latest season of the FX anthology series American Horror Story, and the first plot details have finally arrived online – along with some new posters for the show, which you can check out below.

The premiere episode of Double Feature is titled Cape Fear and has the following synopsis:

A struggling writer, his pregnant wife, and their daughter move to an isolated beach town for the winter. Once they’re settled in, the town’s true residents begin to make themselves known.

This season is called Double Feature because it will be telling

two horrifying stories, one by the sea… the other by the sand.

The titles of these stories are Red Tide and Death Valley. The promotional images for the show imply that Red Tide will be dealing with killer mermaids / sirens, while Death Valley brings aliens into the mix. That’s why you have aliens and sirens both fighting and mourning each other on the posters below.

The cast of American Horror Story: Double Feature includes Sarah Paulson, Macaulay Culkin, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross, Finn Wittrock, and Kaia Gerber.

American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy has said that Culkin will be playing an “insane part” that involves having “crazy, erotic sex with Kathy Bates”. Paulson teased that her character “has some issues” and sports a hair color that has never been on Paulson’s head before.

Episodes of Double Feature will be available to watch through the “FX on Hulu” streaming service the day after they first air on the FX channel.

I have seen the first two episodes of the spin-off American Horror Stories and maybe the first two episodes of American Horror Story season 1, so I probably won’t be watching Double Feature as it airs, but I might get around to checking out all of the AHS I’ve missed at some point.

A new season of the anthology series American Horror Story is set to start airing on FX on August 25th. This one is called American Horror Story: Double Feature because, for the first time in the show's history, the season is going to be split into two different stories. The first one is called Red Tide and appears to be about killer mermaids, while the second story is called Death Valley and deals with aliens. The "double feature" / "worlds colliding" aspect of the season is played up in the newly released trailer, which can be seen above and shows sirens cavorting with aliens.

The cast of American Horror Story: Double Feature includes Sarah Paulson, Macaulay Culkin, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross, Finn Wittrock, and Kaia Gerber. The official synopsis says Double Feature will be telling

two horrifying stories, one by the sea… the other by the sand.

Murphy has said that Culkin will be playing an "insane part" that involves having "crazy, erotic sex with Kathy Bates". Paulson teased that her character "has some issues" and sports a hair color that has never been on Paulson's head before.

Mermaids/Sirens and Aliens were both on a poll American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy hosted on his Instagram account, where he asked fans what sort of subjects they would like to see covered in future seasons. It looks like Murphy was already planning to put both of those options into the new season, regardless of how many votes they received.

I have seen the first two episodes of the spin-off American Horror Stories and maybe the first two episodes of American Horror Story season 1, so I don't know much about this show. The fact that the new season is split into two is intriguing to me, though.

A new poster for Double Feature can be seen below:

The first two episodes of the American Horror Story spin-off American Horror Stories are now available to watch on the Hulu streaming service, and a trailer has been released – check it out in the embed above – that allows the star of those two episodes to introduce herself. She is Rubber(wo)Man, a new version of the Rubber Man character from the first season of American Horror Story.

It was said that American Horror Stories will consist of standalone episodes that each tell a contained story, but they already broke that rule by taking two episodes to tell the show's first story. But the point is, this show isn't going to tell one story each season like American Horror Story does, this one is going to tell several stories each season. Thus the different title.

The cast assembled for the seven episode first season of American Horror Stories includes a mix of American Horror Story veterans with actors who are new to the franchise: Matt Bomer, Taissa Farmiga, Naomi Grossman, Billie Lourd, Danny Trejo, Kevin McHale, Madison Bailey, Sierra McCormick, Paris Jackson, Gavin Creel, Ashley Martin Carter, Belissa Escobedo, Aaron Tveit, Rhenzy Feliz, Kyle Red Silverstein, Amy Grabow, Kaia Gerber, John Carroll Lynch, Dane DiLiegro, Merrin Dungey, Chad James Buchanan, Ben J. Pierce, Ronen Rubinstein, Michael B. Silver, Dyllon Burnside, Nico Greetham, Charles Melton, Virginia Gardner, and Evan Peters (who seems to be reprising the American Horror Story role of Tate Langdon).

American Horror Story regular Sarah Paulson is believed to have directed an episode of American Horror Stories. The series was created by American Horror Story co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Murphy and Falchuk serve as executive producers alongside Loni Peristere, Manny Coto, Alexis Martin Woodall, and John J. Gray. Tanase Popa is co-executive producer.

Murphy and Falchuk wrote the first Rubber(wo)Man episode together, while Falchuk went solo on the second one. Both episodes were directed by Peristere, who has directed nine episodes of American Horror Story over the years.

We've seen a teaser trailer for the American Horror Story spin-off American Horror Stories that was packed with crazy imagery, and now a full trailer has arrived online to give us a proper preview of the stories this show will be telling. Check it out in the embed above! (And you can see the teaser below.)

While American Horror Story tells one story over the course of an entire season when it airs on FX (at least, that has been the case until this year's Double Feature season), American Horror Stories will consist of standalone episodes that each tell a contained story. The seven episode first season will be exclusive to the Hulu streaming service. Its premiere date is July 15th.

The cast of American Horror Stories includes a mix of American Horror Story veterans with actors who are new to the franchise. Here's the line-up: Matt Bomer, Taissa Farmiga, Naomi Grossman, Billie Lourd, Danny Trejo, Kevin McHale, Madison Bailey, Sierra McCormick, Paris Jackson, Gavin Creel, Ashley Martin Carter, Belissa Escobedo, Aaron Tveit, Rhenzy Feliz, Kyle Red Silverstein, Amy Grabow, Kaia Gerber, John Carroll Lynch, Dane DiLiegro, Merrin Dungey, Chad James Buchanan, Ben J. Pierce, Ronen Rubinstein, Michael B. Silver, Dyllon Burnside, Nico Greetham, Charles Melton, Virginia Gardner, and Evan Peters (who is apparently reprising the American Horror Story role of Tate Langdon).

Danny Trejo happens to be my favorite thing about the trailer, as it reveals he'll be playing a killer Santa Claus on the show.

American Horror Story regular Sarah Paulson is believed to have directed an episode of American Horror Stories. The series was created by American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy. Murphy serves as an executive producer alongside Manny Coto, Brad Falchuk, Alexis Martin Woodall, Loni Peristere, and John J. Gray. Tanase Popa is co-executive producer.

I'm not an American Horror Story watcher (maybe I will be someday), but the trailer for American Horror Stories has me very intrigued.

There has been a lot of speculation that the upcoming American Horror Story season American Horror Story: Double Feature would have something to do with mermaids, but if there has been talk about aliens being in the mix I didn't see it. Now a poster has been released for the season… and I'm guessing that the image shown on the poster is of an alien swapping spit and some kind of pill with a sharp-toothed mermaid. Whatever is going on here, it's definitely not an image I ever expected to see. You can check it out for yourself below.

Mermaids/Sirens and Aliens were both on a poll American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy hosted on his Instagram account, where he asked fans what sort of subjects they would like to see covered in future seasons. It seems he had already decided to bring them to the screen in Double Feature before he started the poll.

The cast of American Horror Story: Double Feature includes Sarah Paulson, Macaulay Culkin, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross, Finn Wittrock, and Kaia Gerber. The season is called Double Feature because it will be telling

Murphy has said that Culkin will be playing an "insane part" that involves having "crazy, erotic sex with Kathy Bates". Paulson teased that her character "has some issues" and sports a hair color that has never been on Paulson's head before.

American Horror Story: Double Feature will begin airing on FX on August 25th.

A couple days ago, we saw a poster for the upcoming American Horror Story spin-off series American Horror Stories that featured the Murder House from the first season of American Horror Story, surrounded by a red field that had a person in a latex bodysuit standing in it. This person wasn't the Rubber Man from the Murder House season, but a Rubber Woman. This mysterious Rubber Woman is at the center of the newly released trailer for American Horror Stories, which follows her into the Murder House and then throws a whole lot of strange, trippy visuals at her. She even meets the Rubber Man in there! Check out the trailer in the embed above, but don't expect it to give you any solid facts about the show.

While American Horror Story tells one story over the course of an entire season when it airs on FX (at least, that has been the case, until this year's Double Feature season), American Horror Stories will consist of standalone episodes that each tell a contained story. The seven episode first season will be exclusive to the Hulu streaming service. Its premiere date is July 15th.

The cast of American Horror Stories includes American Horror Story veterans Matt Bomer, Taissa Farmiga, Naomi Grossman, Billie Lourd, and Evan Peters – and "spy pictures" taken of the production indicate that Peters is reprising the role of Tate Langdon, his Murder House character. If so, this won't be the first time he has played Tate again since American Horror Story season 1 ended. The character also made an appearance in the "Return to Murder House" episode of the eighth season, American Horror Story: Apocalypse.

Danny Trejo, Kevin McHale, Madison Bailey, Sierra McCormick, Paris Jackson, and Kaia Gerber are also in the cast.

American Horror Story regular Sarah Paulson is believed to have directed an episode of American Horror Stories.

Another poster has also arrived online, and you can see that below:
